Photos below of my beauitful homebred Doe, Tallulah (Talli).
She is such a lovely girl, she has the amazing temperament of her mum, Destiny, and such a stunning colour -I have aimed for this colour since 2007! Worth the wait!
As you can see (well I can see being so critical and perfectionist!), there is a lot of work to do with this colour still but the progress is there, just lots more to do :) I would like the crown/ear carriage improved plus overall shape (a little more compact/shorter and wider more typey face too).
Colour and temperament and quality is there already -I'm SO proud of Talli! Watch this space for her first ever litter in 2011, she is due in a few weeks - Sire is my stunning Harlie so fingers crossed! :)

Lots of Visitors This Weekenddd :D 8th August 2010 :D

I've had quite a busy weekend with lots of visitors to the Footsteps Stud! :D On Saturday, Tracy visited us all and Leo's full brother, Smartie, visited us too!!! Smartie is a stunning boy and I can see both Destiny & Primmore in him! I then went along for the short trip to Tracy's house and popped Smartie back into his huge run at home as well as checking out his awesome new accommodation!! Wowww!! :D

On Sunday (today), Fern and Stuart (Lolly & Smudge's owners) visited us! They also had their gorgeous young Mini Lop boy with them, Cookie! :D He spent some time in our mini play area just as Smartie did on Saturday! It was lovely to catch up with Fern & Stuart as I haven't seen them for so long!

I hope everyone enjoyed their visit over the weekend!! :D It was fantastic to see you all and I think the bunnies have all had a fun weekend too, especially the babies! Tracy has picked her new baby...Ribbon's Blue Self and Fern & Stuart have picked their babies as well -Destiny's Blue Self baby and I am going to let Fern have Ribbon's Sooty Fawn Butterfly Doe after a lot of thinking!!

Have a look at the photos from this weekend! :) I hope to update photos of the babies very soon and decided on names for their pedigrees too! :)

Update 26th July 2010

Picture
I have uploaded the first photos of Ribbon's Sooty Fawn Butterfly baby :) The first photo is on the homepage and the second is here :)
All her babies are soooooo beautiful and sooooooo adorable! I love them all so so much!
I think at the moment the Sooty Fawn Butterfly is a Doe, I think the Harlequin is a Buck and I also think the Blue baby is a Buck. The Blue is a Teacup Miniature Lop like Mum and like Alfie :)
They are all very special babies! I will update with individual photos as soon as possible and they are all so beautiful!

Destiny's babies are also doing extremely well! Destiny is a superstar mum! :D She still has all five babies and wow we do have another litter of stunning colours!!! How will I choose which to keep?!!!
Destiny has a TRI COLOUR!!!!!!! A Harlequin, the first BLUE OTTER ever born at The Footsteps Stud too!!! She also has a Blue self and a Black Otter!! :D
They haven't opened their eyes yet but are very fluffy now!! :)

Unfortunately, we didn't go showing at Heckington as planned over the weekend. I hope everyone who did show there had an enjoyable time though and I am so sorry I couldn't be there this year :( I was having a very low week and I didn't feel up to going out showing and I also had to cancel visitors as well at the weekend - I am so sorry to everyone :( Hopefully I will be feeling better soon. The bunnies are keeping me smiling. I don't know what I'd do without them here to be honest!

Well, I hope you are all well and please send me an email on your updates as I love hearing from you all :) I've got quite a few emails to reply to so will do that over the next few days :)

17th July - New Babies at The Footsteps Stud!

Picture
Destiny has kindled this morning!! 5 beautiful ,chunky babies!! Sire is Primmore's Pride :-D Destiny is a fantastic mum, knows exactly what to do and the kindling was straightforward & uncomplicated...I love mums like Destiny! Everything is so much easier! I will keep updating the blog with any news! Ribbon's babies are starting to explore now and they are SO cute! :-D

13th July…Babies Update… :- )

One of the babies can now see :- ) Yayy…it is so amazing to see their eyes for the first time. They are very happy babies, Ribbon is looking after them soooo well and this is her first litter so I’m very proud of her :- )

I can now confirm the colours! A Blue Self, a Sooty Fawn Butterfly and a Black/Orange Harlequin :- D All three are sooo beautiful! :- )

Lapizole -Encephalitozoon Cuniculi PROTECTION.

Picture
I have read an article in 'Fur & Feather' magazine about this new product -Lapizole. It is a single-course treatment for protection against the awful Encephalitozoon Cuniculi (E.Cuniculi). I am just about to purchase my first few packs of this as I am going to give all of my rabbits a course of Lapizole.
I am strongly recommending that you also do the same for your rabbit. I am unsure at the moment of dosage amounts/age etc for giving this product or precautions but I will post them as soon as I know.
You can buy your pack of Lapizole from here: http://www.petvetcare.co.uk/acatalog/Healthcare.html and if you would like to read the article about E.C in the Fur & Feather magazine, you can buy a copy online www.furandfeather.co.uk (think that it the correct website -google it!). :-)
One purchase of Lapizole treats one rabbit. Please spread the message about Lapizole, thankyou :-) Charlotte xxx

The Footsteps Feeding Plan : - )

I have added a new page to the website -The Footsteps Feeding Plan! :- ) A detailed plan for feeding with problem-solving...does your rabbit leave mix feeds or get bored of pellets? Some interesting new ideas including a new idea of soaking feed to create a mash concentrate feed..... CLICK HERE to visit the new page :- )

Moving Day :-) 9th July 2010

What a busy day!! Today = Moving Day for the Footsteps bunnies :- )

After three years of being promised the 10 x 8 shed, I have finally moved the bunnies in today :- ) !!!!!!!!!

I’ve spent the day clearing out the shed, disinfecting it, removing cobwebs and making it all tidy then all was left was the huge task of moving the bunnies in to their new home :- )

They are now all settled and it is so lovely to have them in the shed now, it’s nearer to the house, it’s quiet and peaceful and they all look so happy :- )

One thing that did concern me when I thought of moving the bunnies to the shed was the problem of the shed overheating in the summer but that problem has been solved! The shed is located in a shady place anyway but I still wanted more airflow so I have swapped the glass window for a mesh one and panels have been removed on two sides of the shed so that there is constant airflow (but all can be filled in if needed in winter) –the shed is now lovely and cool :- )

I’m soooooo tired now after a day tidying, moving and then more tidying! But, it has all been worth it! I have wanted the rabbits in that shed for three years and today was the day it all happened! :- )

I will take photos tomorrow hopefully :- )

Ribbon’s babies are doing so well, definitely one orange/black Harlequin and I think the Charlie is Sooty Fawn Charlie…not 100% yet. Then the third baby is possibly blue self but again not too sure –never had a blue self baby born here before so I’m not really sure!

Still not entered for the show lol – got the entry form printed off now so just got to fill that in, write a cheque and post it all before the closing date!!

Charlotte :- )

8th July 2010 :-)

So sorry I haven't updated the blog for ages!
We have some exciting news.......
Our homebred Blue Butterfly doe, Ribbon, became a mum on the 1st July 2010.....the day after my 19th Birthday :-)
She has three gorgeous Miniature Lop babies in the nest -Ribbon is a fantastic mum and is looking after her babies so well :- )

Dad to the babies is our awesome Sooty Buck, Oliver :-)
Looks to be one Harlequin, one Charlie & I'm not sure of the other colour or markings at the moment but will keep you updated :-)

We are starting to prepare the bunnies for the Heckington show which is in a few weeks time :-) I entered last year with my young French Lops and Comet won his class there last year -I'm hoping he will do well again this year now that he is competing as an Adult :-)

I am going to post the entries this week so hopefully they will get there in time! I'm known for being late...all the time! lol! :-S I'm just not very organised! :-/ I'm entering three homebreds this year –Footsteps Tei Amo, Footsteps Feurst Romancier and Footsteps Barrettinni :- ) So, 2 French Lops and one Miniature Lop -2 youngsters and one adult :- )

Destiny & Primmore’s Miniature Lop babies are due next week :- ) I will keep the blog updated if I can :- ) but feel free to email anytime if you’d like an update :- ) [email protected]

Charlotte :- )

16th June 2010

I'm going to start this blog entry by showing you 2 of my photos :) These are of beautiful rainbows over my cottage & over the lane where we live :) We have had some incredible thunderstorms recently but the best part of them is definitely the rainbows :)

I have been busy updating & organising the website today, it is nearly completely up-to-date :) I have updated the 'Miniature Lop Babies' page but still have lots of photos to add :)

All of the bunnies are well here at The Footsteps Stud :) I have just 2 does for breeding this Summer, Ribbon (Homebred Blue Butterfly) and Destiny (our original Doe, Black Otter Butterfly). The boys we have are Primmore, Oliver, Charlie & our 2010 homebred baby, Leo :) We do also have Cuddles here but he isn't a stud buck, just a very spoilt little monkey!! ;)

Destiny is due in about 30 days and Ribbon very soon :) So keep checking back to see if we have any more 2010 babies at the Footsteps Stud :)

I'm hoping to post new photos of our stunning homebred boy, Leo, (Harlequin) as he has grown up so so much :) His brothers have updates on the 'New Homes' page :) Leo is absolutely stunning, the best Miniature Lop that we have bred here -I am very very proud of him :)

Remember you can join us on Facebook by searching for 'Edenrise Stud' in the Facebook Search Box :) then click on the group and click 'Join' :)

All your updates are very much appreciated and I will get photos & news on the website soon xxx

Hope you are all well

21st March 2010

I have new photos of the babies here at Footsteps but haven't yet had time to add them. ASAP will add them.
Jorja's babies are doing so so well -they are absolutely stunning!!!!!!! I have decided on names -Footsteps Barrettinni and Footsteps S'Martea =)

Destiny's babies are coping extremely well without mum and are growing up so quickly!
The first of the litter left Footsteps today, baby Footsteps Tifton. Thankyou so so much to Rajan & family for offering Tifton such a secure, loving home. Lovely to meet you both today and Footsteps Stud wishes you all the best with baby Tifton xx Keep in touch!

All the bunnies at Footsteps are doing well. Comet is being exceptionally cheeky at the moment and has worked out the trick of how to tip over his water bowl! I offer the French Lops the option of water bowl or drinking bottle. The all prefer to have a bowl. Comet, however, is abusing rather than using his!!! A real Monkey Socks is that bunny!! Sooo cheeky! But, I can never be cross with him, he's just one of my favourite boys!

Lovely weather at the moment -I have missed the sunshine and the warm weather. Welcome back SPRINGGG!!!!!!!!!! The bunnies have enjoyed the better weather, bouncing about outside and chilling out!

Charlotte xx

13th March 2010

Apologies for the lack of photos on the website...I'm having phone and upload trouble again! I'll keep trying to get the photos on here, I've got loads to add!

Destiny's babies are growing up so quickly! This week has been one of the biggest weeks for them. They all now have their BRC rings on (I ring all of my babies -many reasons for doing so) and today they have been weaned from mum. This will be their first night without Destiny...so far, all the babies are absolutely fine and so is Destiny :)

I am very careful with weaning, it is such a huge process for any litter. It normally goes very well though without any problems. I start by taking mum away for  long periods during the day and then she goes back with them at night, extending the time every day. Then, at the end of the week, mum is away from them all day and then for the first night and won't go back with them.

Most adjust very well if the weaning is carried out carefully and there aren't any problems. All the babies are very bouncy, strong and healthy & happy! Mum has done a fantastic job with her babies and looks every bit a superstar -she is in fantastic condition!

Jorja's babies are growing so quickly, too! They have just started to open their eyes and they are so beautiful and so chunky!

Destiny's babies will hopefully be ready to leave for their new homes in about 2 weeks time. I will miss these boys so much when they leave but I am very confident that they have secure, loving homes to grow up in xxx

10th March 2010

Hello all :)
It has been a while since I've updated the blog!

Well, Jorja is now a mummy and has 2 absolutely beautiful babies in the nest!! One Black Self and one beautifully-marked Black Butterfly! They are sooo huge and chunky! Jorja is a fantastic mummy! :)

Destiny's litter are doing so, so well! They all have lopped ears now apart from Tifton who is a bit of a helicopter, bless him! :) I will update their photos asap :) They are getting used to a bit longer time without mum, Destiny, during the day now. I will be weaning them completely at the weekend when they reach 8-weeks-old. :)

This weekend will be very exciting because Oliver's son, Owyn, will be joining Footsteps Stud :) Owyn was born and raised at The Champagne Stud but from a Footsteps mating - Annabell (Agouti) x Oliver (Sooty Fawn). Sadly, Annabell is no longer with us and Owyn is just a beautiful reminder of her. x Oliver is still here with us and it will be very special to have his only son here at The Footsteps Stud :) x Thankyou so much Jane xx

I would like to thank my very special friend, Tracy Goy-Ramsay, for visiting us recently to help look after Cody (homebred, hand-raised Black Self Mini Lop buck). Your help is appreciated so much, thankyou Tracy xx Unfortunately, Cody was put to sleep yesterday afternoon and it was so upsetting to have to let him go :'( We miss you Cody xxx He was a very special boy and he meant so much to me as I hand-raised him from a very young baby. Sleep tight, baby Cody xxx

Cody's photo is at the top of this page. x

See the nursery for photos of Destiny's babies out in the playpen x

26th February 2010

I can't believe how quickly this month has gone!! It's nearly March already!! Where is this year going??!! One thing I can assure you of, though, is that I can't wait to say goodbye to winter and hello SPRING!!

We have had some brilliant news through the post today from the British Rabbit Council. Our second-choice Stud Name has been approved and our stud name is now registered with the British Rabbit Council. It does mean, though, that we have changed our stud name to 'The Footsteps Stud'. I will scan the BRC stud name registration receipt onto the website :)

You will notice a few changes as we adjust to our new stud name. We say goodbye to Edenrise Stud but hello to Footsteps! If any of you (particularly  owners of Brood Does who have litters Sired by our Bucks and owners of our babies) would like updated 'Footsteps' pedigrees, please request them by email: [email protected] (the copies are free -please include your postal address).

Destiny's babies are growing sooo quickly! They are stunning boys and I love all of them so much! ! New photos will be added soon!

17th February 2010

Well, the babies now have their first individual photos!!! They are just so beautiful, thankyou all for your enquiries on the litter!

The photos and information are on the Nursery 2010 page and you can view the photos close-up on our Public Facebook Album: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38595&id=1626417338&l=f4a41f96bc

All of the bunnies here are doing extremely well, 2009 youngsters are growing up sooo quickly! I have new, updated photos of them all so I will share them with you all as soon as I get a chance :)

I have, this year again, decided to offer the Edenrise Bucks at public stud to suitable does. I know a few people are against the idea but it has worked here for 2 years now and there have never been any problems. Everybody has different opinions of course and everybody goes about things different ways. Some want to offer their bucks to suitable does, some people don't.

Anyway, so, see the 'Sires 2010' page for information on our bucks available at stud to suitable does :) I always take precautions and have set terms & conditions. does must be vaccinated to date (my rabbits are up-to-date on vaccs) and both doe & buck are de-wormed prior to the mating. a pedigree is provided as well as continued support when the litter arrives. Edenrise work on a NLFR rule -No Litter, Free Return. This has worked for Edenrise & visiting Does since we started offering Bucks to public does and there have been some beautiful litters born sired by our boys :)

We have had quite a dramatic few weeks here at Edenrise, mostly caused by one little Doe! Bella has been acting extremely aggressively towards us and  I thought...no way could she be like that! I was shocked at her behaviour. Now, though,  we know why!!! Bella is pregnant! So, mystery solved and she is forgiven for all the bites and lunges that we have had since her arrival! Settle down Bella, we aren't going to hurt you xxx

Anyway, I hope you are all well and thankyou for taking the time to read the updates at Edenrise :) Roll on Summer, not liking this winter weather at all!!

SNOW PICTURES ADDED TO 'ALL ABOUT EDENRISE' PAGE!! xxx
One of Fern's photos below xx sooo beautiful! Will upload the others asap xxx

My friend of many years (since Primary school! We were reunited at my 18th Birthday after not being in contact since we parted ways at the end of Primary school - 8 years!!) offered a fantastic home to Edenrise Little London (Orange Lionlop Doe, full sister to Edenrise Footsteps Merlot, Agouti Lionlop) and Edenrise Vanilla Skies (Orange Miniature Lop Doe, full sister to Edenrise Camberleigh) last year.

Today, Hannah visited Edenrise with the bunnies and they are sooo beautiful!! Little London is hopefully in-kit to a stunning Agouti Lionhead Buck so fingers crossed for a litter in 31 days!! She has an awesome mane & fabulous type!

I'm very proud of both girls!! Vanilla Skies moved back in to Edenrise accommodation this evening and it is so fantastic to have her back with us! Thankyou Hannah xx Vanilla Skies, known as Bella, looks so much like her mum, Isabella! x

I will add Fern's photos, photos of Bella and photos of Destiny/Primmore babies as soon as the Photo Uploader on here works again, it freezes half way through uploads so I'll stay patient for now!

ah well, here we are! back on weebly!!! i just can't get my head round freewebs now at all! i'm very at home with weebly and now our new internet connection means that photos are uploading! finallyyyy!!

photos and information are being added slowly!

FANTASTIC news today! Destiny kindled this morning -looks to be 6 or 7 babies but didn't count very well as I didn't want the babies to get cold, it was just a brief check to make sure they were all okay. Destiny is a fantastic mum and so caring, Primmore is dad for the 2nd time here!

i would like to thank everyone for giving fantastic homes to the edenrise baby bunnies last year -thankyou all for your updates & photos! i promise i will get your photos on here a.s.a.p! (new homes page) x

Congratulations also to Jane and bunnies at Champagne Stud as she has 4 of my bunnies (Annie, Chorizo, Lucy & Isabella) as Annie has a litter of 3 beautiful babies at the moment!! Oliver here at Edenrise is the sire -I couldn't believe it when Jane told me the news that Annie had had babies -Oliver hasn't been interested in does for some time and I thought his litter earlier in 09 was the last from him. So, I am full of congratulations and excitement!!!!!

Thankyou so much Jane for giving my 4 bunnies a fantastic home xx I hope that one of Annie's babies will join us at Edenrise after weaning etc. ! Sooo exciting!!! You can see the babies on Jane's website: www.champagneminilops.webs.com xx

I will keep you posted on Destiny's litter -this part of the Tri Colour project! Current available babies are on the Nursery page, too.

As for 2010 babies, I hope for our first French Lop litter in the Spring -Jorja and Blenheim will be the hopeful parents!!
